Rafa Nadal ended his participation in the round robin as Group A leaders defeated in straight sets to Czech Tomas Berdych, stretching his lead over rival 17-3. The Balearic win automatically qualified to Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka won him Friday morning to David Ferrer.
In the doubles the second pair in the planting, the Austrian Alexander Peya and Portuguese Bruno Soares semifinals qualified for removing the undefeated Fernando Verdasco and David Marrero in straight sets. Anyway, the Spanish partner has advanced to the final stretch.
Rafa broke early in the first set to take the kick from Czech in the third game. Balearic The service worked well not allowing Berdych arm game. Similarly the right was well calibrated.
