Atletico has surpassed AC Milan match with a much more practical than flashy. Moreover, they passed Simeone real trouble for a while in the first half. Bats, hands Courtois and poor marksmanship Kaka made the Rossoneri to the locker room were with the lead. That who forgives, it ends up paying.
And the dominion of Milan was lost in the second half, and after the departure of Balotelli, wearing completely disappeared. Atletico, with less fear without the presence of the Italian striker in attack, forward pressure lines, began to steal the ball and from there, the game was theirs. First would be the third-seeded Berdych to jump on the court with all precautions before a Gulbis coming briskly after beating defending champion and top seed Juan Martin Del Potro. However the game went faster than expected since the Czech was solid with his service and his punches. Also capitalized on the break three times that generated. Gulbis on the contrary, unlike the match against Del Potro service was erratic and fell 6-3 6-2 in 66 minutes.
After the shift would be Marin Cilic who goes on in the last two weeks and despite losing the opening set to the local Sijsling 5-7 was becoming stronger with the service in the next two sets (only 2 points lost with the first serve between the second and third sets) and ended up running the game 6-3 6-2 in just under two hours totaling 15 aces. Del Potro in their first two games and had been up and down this Friday against a powerful opponent on fast surfaces like Gulbis, these dilutions took their toll. Across the network, Gulbis was the reverse of the medal. Hit 12 aces and reached 82% of first serve points. He saved the only break chance he faced in the second set and broke Del Potro once a manga to win 6-3 6-4 in 81 minutes. Read more »

Yesterday, Real Madrid got in the Cup final, today he has had to Barcelona become the other finalist. Barca team made good the controversial 2-0 first leg at the Nou Camp and has surpassed the Royal Society in this tie after the second leg played in Anoeta ended with 1 draw, after 90 minutes quite entertaining and good game.
Barcelona has made a party quite complete, of the best I have seen lately. Still, it has managed to achieve victory because opposite the Royal Society has proved also to be a great team, and it’s no coincidence that he got where it is today. Putting intensity until the end and thanks to its good out to counterattack, Arrasate’s at least tied the match.
And the score will be made difficult in the first half when Messi pounced on a poor clearance to José Ángel made the play of 0-1, a goal which came crying after the attempted stop Zubikarai. Barca pressed and triangulated looking goal, while the Royal sought against possession and sometimes argue the Catalans. And so, despite the tie looked settled, at least the party entertained. The team coached by Carlo Ancelotti played his third cup final of the last four years, having removed their neighbors Atletico Madrid in a tie that has had only one color, the target of Chamartin, which reflected the strong aggregate score of 5-0.
If the leg had stopped pretty decanted thing for Real Madrid comeback to the point that it seemed almost impossible, the second leg of the story was less than expected. Atletico Madrid shot in the foot stuck, as they say, giving away two penalties in just 20 minutes, Cristiano Ronaldo to put two more goals to his tally amazing.
The first, of Manquillo on the Portuguese player was one of those penalties committed unintentionally, by inertia, but the penalty after all. Just before the break, Manquillo would fright night fall in bad position after a collision with Ronaldo, in a very striking image. Then, a heartless punish the Portuguese with mecherazo from the stands was not greater. Read more »

The odd pound or two on the national lottery is all very well, but there are some people out there who are very serious about their betting. There are those who have bet amounts of money which most of us cannot even visualise. There are also those who have placed a small amount and won big. It is the luck of the draw. Here are some of the more interesting stories of bets gone wrong or luck found.
You should always know when it is time to stop. Kerry Packer a well known Australian gambler known for his ‘toss you for it’ bet with a Texan oil millionaire worth one hundred million dollars, is reputed to have lost over forty million dollars (the equivalent of twenty five million pounds) in London over a period of ten months. It just goes to show you how easy it is to lose an awful lot of money and why it is important to have those limits in place! The biggest known losing streak that took place in Vegas happened in 2007 and involved a businessman named Terrance Watanabe who over the course of a year in Vegas lost $127 million. This was his complete personal fortune.
Owning a horse as a syndicate can be a good move for professional gamblers as the Hermits of Salisbury plain discovered. A group of five, they made several wins on the horses, but notably in 1903 had a windfall of £250,000 (worth £10 million today) when their horse Hacklers Pride won the Cambridgeshire race. It is always worth taking the occasional punt, as those that spend a couple of pounds on the Euromillions and then win life changing amounts of money will tell you. A 40 year-old Welshman discovered this when he decided to place a bet back in 1989. What did he bet on? Well, that Cliff Richard would be knighted, that Eastenders and Neighbours would still be showing on TV in the year 2000 and U2 would still be a group. He placed a bet of £30 and collected £194,400 in 2000.
The Ultimate Loss:
There are those that have gambled and who have made the biggest losses of all in the process. People will know that Captain Matthew Webb was the first man to swim the English Channel in 1875. What many people may not know is that in a bid to make some much needed cash he agreed to swim across the whirlpool underneath the Niagara Falls to the other side. The stake for doing this was $10,000. Unfortunately this was a bet which cost him his life.
It is always worth bearing in mind that whilst having a punt can be extraordinary fun and can lead to life-changing events – it also has a darker side. You do not always have to be a high roller to reap those rewards, so enjoy the little ones too.
